I was shocked at the pick. Not that we took a QB, but that we took Lee. Since I don't follow Nebraska, I thought for sure he was a running QB. That, he is definitely not. He definitely has the physical tools but for some reason it just hasn't clicked for him and it sounds like it may never will.
You seemed to b behind him early on
Since one of your assistants was at Tulane and knew the kid
Building him up to be trade bait is what you were going for
Only thing you could trade him for would be assistant to the assistant water boy
However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

For the last 3 years Nebraska has been a west coast offense nfl style team
Worst 3 year stretch in over 50 years
No
Lee was not a runner
He was what the offense was designed for
Nfl statue thing

Of course I am behind him. I wear teal tinted glasses and drink the teal kool aide. I am a homer 100%. And who doesn't get excited when your team drafts a new QB?

No one is a bigger Nebraska fan than me
However I do not let my fandom get in the way of facts, logic and reason
Nebraska will be a 7-6 team this year and our true frogs quarterback
Will be hit and miss but perform better than the 4 win tanner lee

Pretty sure having Scott Frost as a coach will help a little bit too.

I agree. I haven't really heard much about Lee from training camp. All I know is Bortles is mopping the floor with him and our other back up.

An update on Tanner Lees first scrimmage at Tampa Bay:
Sacked 5 times, 2 fumbles (one lost), in only 9 offensive snaps.  8 yards rushing, 37 yards passing

He's exactly who I said he was- seeing him play here- and watching his film from Tulane and the "all star" game

Haha. Thankfully our back up has done a great job. I don't see Lee making the Practice Squad at this rate. It would also help to see him play with more than fellow 3rd stringers.

I was just about to come on here and state that it looks like Dave was right!

He did not look good against New Orleans' backups but then again, the protection was atrocious. Good thing Kessler looks as good as advertised.

Well he was
Awful at Tulane
Awful at Nebraska
Awful at the college all star game

Looks great without pads
Past results are pretty good indicators of future

So Lee killed it last night in the 4th pre-season game. Even his biggest critics are singing his praises after last night. Now, almost no one expects him to make the 53 man roster, but everyone expects him to at least be offered a spot on the PS. We shall see.
