When training the camera person for your team what are the key points to emphasize and where do you want the cameras placed in the event elevation is out the question

Why is elevation out of the question?  Can't use a truck bed, hunter's stand or scaffold?

At our field elevation is not possible. I would go with about 20 yards behind the los. Endzone is ok as well but creates depth problems. Neither is very good honestly. Some places won't allow you in the endzone.

Check your league rules. In ours, you have to be outside the coaches box, but can't be from the end zones. We normally have elevation, but when we haven't, I have found that about 10 yards behind the LOS is good depending on whether I want to see the offense or defense.

When we can't get elevation, I have them go as far down the sideline behind our team as they can. Usually they can get to the corner of the endzone off the sideline.  Not great, but let's me see best what's going on across the entire LOS.

What is the safety concern?  I tried to find research on deaths and don't see any.  I did very few accidents but nothing major.  I think a dude cut the tip of his nose off holding one or something.  They are extremely safe.

Ours did too.  But the FAA shut down ours because we were too close to the airport:

My wife shut me down on getting one, had nothing to do with the proximity to the airport :P
