How do you block for the Slot T? I was at a clinic not long ago and OC was explaining a face mask to defenders belt area type block. Similar to a chop block.

there are several series of plays where blocking will differ, just like wing T.

if your ref to a down block, yes it is a low driving shoulder block, and having face mask at the waist level is a good reference tool and reminder to keep low.

Shot block:
-good stance
-explosion into Dlineman
-aim for belt of DL
-make contact with hands, and "screws" at the SAME time
-no follow through, finish on ground
-"wear out your knee pads"

Shot & follow:
-begins with shot (as shown above)
-complete with follow through
1. Quick feet
2. Flat back
3. Drive to the whistle
4. Finish!
      A. Explode and throw (cut)
       B. Cut and roll

Hope this helps coach, these are just some notes I have. Holler if you have anymore questions and I'll try to help!

Maybe watch some hi lite tapes of some slot T teams and watch the OL off the ball.
