Coaches,

I have a few questions I would like to ask.

   1) How did you come across The Dumcoach Forum?  From the redone show coach big b

   2) What the reason you became a member (as opposed to remaining a guest)? A lot of the coaches I listen to are also on these boards so it was a no brainier

   3) How long did it take you to join after you first found the fourm? Lurked for 1 day now I'm a member
Team work: good as gold

I remember it well.  I think ...ha ha.

Was back in the late 90s or maybe 2000.

I stumbled across infosports.net or whatever it was called back then. I think there was another place called "eteamz" and then the crowd at Delphi.

I really didn't know any of those guys (and to this day, while some " know" me as an internet personality, I have not MET most of the guys face to face)  -

I can recall reading a post that had to do with running the double wing from different formations.  A coach had said that he was an I formation guy.   Well, I jumped right into the discussion and blah blah blah, next thing I know I am getting a new @#$%^& torn into me by Wade for suggesting that its fine to keep the beloved I formation and run double wing plays from it- afterall, Markham had started that way!  Lol, oh some of the flame wars over the years on that board were pretty bad.

On the plus side, we also had some great discussions there over the years. Lots of funny chalk talks, particularly from DC (wilkins) who could score six points against anything you could throw at him, in one play ha ha.
We had a half million post thread on "how to teach a reach block" that I recall.
Pretty sure there were wild threads about teaching "mojo" there ...way back when before Potter was a rockstar with his approach to practice.

That site had many problems at times, I think they may have even started looking for contributions from members? coltscoach, fish, jb, mahonz,  Wilkins,  carbon, potter, Malcolm, jack Gregory, destefano was around some... cisar and a few others that are still around here pretty much dominated the discussions.  We all pretty much floated about the Delphi forums and infosports- I cant remember what happened to infosports and how we ended up with dumcoach but I think it had something to do with archiving posts.

Its hard to believe that I have never met potter, mahonz...yet I "talk" to these guys more than some of my own family members.

Oh, the other forum that many of us visited  was www.bucksweep.com before it changed to a new board. For awhile some of us hung out at "double wing for dummies" which is still out there but I don't think its moderated or supported much these days.   Hueys  xs and os wasn't around yet....several of us helped build that place before it got too big for its britches. (ie I put their link in all of my double wing illustrated emags)

our league still uses eteamz for their league website.. shudder.

I was at an Offense/Defense camp as a father/counselor and another dad there told me about it. I was fairly new to coaching youth football and wanted to learn as much as possible. Once I logged on I was hooked...and haven't looked back since!

I don't know how I'm supposed to pronounce your last name but I've been saying it as loins.

You do live somewhere near a city with the same name don't you? I've always imagined his name was pronounced like the city, and the king of the jungle too.

But from now on, I will always hear it as Loins.

Coaches,

I have a few questions I would like to ask.

   1) How did you come across The Dumcoach Forum?

   2) What the reason you became a member (as opposed to remaining a guest)?

   3) How long did it take you to join after you first found the fourm?

About 5 yrs ago my son wanted to play football and i grew tired of watching the coaches take the starters out on offense everyday while leaving the other kids to sit around by the fence so i went online to try to find info on youth defenses and drills that i could have them do so they would be involved in the practices instead of being sacrificial lambs just standing there to be hit on a play that the HC just drew up. I found this site and joined immediately looking for all the info i could find on youth football. Went back the next week and put in the WT6, which gave the header problems. He recommended me to the prez the next season and i became a HC.

Coaches,

I have a few questions I would like to ask.

   1) How did you come across The Dumcoach Forum? Found Clarks coaching the ADD/ADHD player on another site and immediately wanted to obtain any info I could from Dumcoach

   2) What the reason you became a member (as opposed to remaining a guest)?

   3) How long did it take you to join after you first found the fourm?
