testosterone guides his decision making, if he yells loud enough or yells often enough this the measure of his greatness, just ask him and he will tell ya just how great he truly is.

OK c'mon that there is just pure unfiltered funny funny

I typed in a google search "I am the dumbest coach of them all" and it showed me this forum.

Best laugh I had all day!

I searched yahoo for defensive schemes for youth.
nothing replaces effort. nothing replaces the mind. One with out the other is a waste.

Coaches,

I have a few questions I would like to ask.

   1) How did you come across The Dumcoach Forum?

   2) What the reason you became a member (as opposed to remaining a guest)?

   3) How long did it take you to join after you first found the fourm?

1) Searching for info, found this site, can't remember exactly how.

2) When I saw info on many different schemes and coaches here I had heard of throughout the nation. Needed to ask questions and learn from the other coaches experiences.

3) About 3 years, I "lurked" just reading occasionally. This year I have a huge challenge to revive a failing Org and thought it best to immerse myself in football and found no better place then here. Plus I like to get into the conversations, helps me be a better teacher.

Coaches,

I have a few questions I would like to ask.

   1) How did you come across The Dumcoach Forum?

I was an assistant coach who became such by literally typing in "Youth Football, "Such-and-such city, Virginia" and the first website that popped up I emailed them and asked if I could coach for them. I was astounded at how coaching had not changed, i.e. developed at all since I was a player in Youth 'ball. And that was a lot longer ago than what I am prepared to deal with.

I found Jack Reed's site and bought some of his books then threw them in the trash once I read that he fully endorses cutting a player. Not trying to put the man down but it just doesn't jive with how I wanted to coach.

Found a "Jet Wing" playbook online and realized that it was total garbage since it didn't even provide blocking technique other than "run your track." Kept on searching for "wing" offenses and stumbled across the DCWT. I still have no earthly idea how I downloaded that original version since I didn't even visit this site but am I glad I did!

Once I cracked open the playbook, I felt so relieved that there was someone out there that put actual thought into coaching and not just volume. I googled "DumCoach" and wound up here. I'm so hooked to this site I doubt I'll ever leave permanently.

   2) What the reason you became a member (as opposed to remaining a guest)?

Once I poked around the site, there was no way I wasn't going to become a member. I'm not as active as I should be on here but that's more due to scheduling than anything. Even if I just lurk, I feel like I build up my knowledge level so much. Of course, it helps that there's a lot of room for growth with said level.

I saw this answer above and I'm going to steal it; about as long as a PBR bull ride.

Jack Reed's Defense (Gap Air Mirror) works very well for 4th Grade and under, Just sayin!

Other than that Jack Reed hasnt seen a sideline in 15 years since his kids stopped playing.  Offensively Jack reed stuff is "Dated" to say the least.  Way too much Material better than his at this point in time. I will say his evals are solid and time management isn't bad either.

Jack Gregory  Double Wing. 6-3
Dave Cisar  Single Wing Wide Tackle 6
JR TITAN (Paul)  I-Wing and Split 4-4
Derek Wade 3-4 Defense
JJ Lawson 30 Front
Steve Calende Double Wing, 4-6 and 38 Special
Clark Wilkins.  You Name it.  DCWT and 46.  Killer Bee, DC Flex Run and Shoot.

Way too much stuff from SOLID "Contemporary" people to use Jack Reeds Material beyond 4th Grade.

Just Dusty's thoughts

Coaches,

I have a few questions I would like to ask.

   1) How did you come across The Dumcoach Forum?
It's been so long ago I forgot I found the dumcoach.com site.

   2) What the reason you became a member (as opposed to remaining a guest)?
I was looking for a good youth defense and found it with the DC 46. Perhaps I should go back to the DC 46 if/when I coach again.

   3) How long did it take you to join after you first found the fourm?
I became a member about 20 seconds I got my first message from dumcoach. If I could get some great advice from a great coach like Clark for free, might as join whatever site he was on lol.

I said Siri, where can I find someone who can help me to be a better coach.

Seriously I was literally typing desperate search messages in google trying to find help for stuff and saw a post somewhere that advised a person to come here.

I was a guest for a while, just so much going on that was out of my league I wasn't sure if I would join even though everyone seemed friendly.

I finally decided to become a member when I realized I needed help, and that I could at least try to PM some of these gurus and see if I could get the advice or help I need desperately in some areas until I feel like I can post my questions.

And in the meantime I can still read and learn.

1) Searching on google for BEAST material

2) This site had the best info on what I was looking for. The conversations covering the beast was just plain informative and fun to read. Now I find myself lurking through just about every topic and post I see because I'm afraid I'm going to miss some little nugget of football wisdom :)

3) Right away, I know a good thing when I see it.

For the new guys and lurkers, just post your questions. Don't be afraid or think you will be looked down upon or ridiculed. Everybody on here at one point had no idea what they were doing. The more you ask and engage in conversation the better. I will admit that some great info is shared through pm as some stuff guys don't want out publicly, but posting questions will always get you a ton of info.

I became the DC on a first year 10 YO team this year and when researching defenses I eventually landing on Jack's 6-3...and this site!  I can say in all certainly that I am a much better coach today and will be a better coach tomorrow because of this site and the folks that take the time to share information.  Thank you to all

Thought I answered this months ago...I guess not.

1)  I was referred here to find "The Wizard" around 2009 by GSFOOTBALL. I was told about the greatest defense known to man, so I came looking for it.

2 & 3) On the old forum, you had to register to post, so I registered.
