Masonry Contractor to the stars and wealthy. Not necessarily in that order. Notable Clients: Ty Warner (founder of Beanie babies) http://www.flickr.com/photos/22166506@N06/6251471072/in/photostream/  The most expensive home built on American soil, clocking in at $360,000,000.00. Robert Day of T.C.W., the only son (child) of Willamina Keck, Bob Beyer of T.C.W., Eric Smidt of Harbor freight (just finished this one, he's a dufas) 4 1/2 year long project  http://losangeles.blockshopper.com/property/4350005008/1130_schuyler. Michael Greenberg of Sketcher shoes ( Nice one in Manhattan beach. Good guy too)
Lot 76 Beverly park for some undisclosed Arab. Tons more, but you get the picture.

Gap,
I grew up in the masonry and concrete trades. Family business That field is dead in Florida. Nobody who speaks English does it anymore here. Seems being a citizen in Florida is a disadvantage. :P I am in construction inspections nowadays after being a construction superintendent and estimator for years. Much less stress.

Winged, I'm kinda at a cross roads. My company's geared towards the most elite of projects, at the same time, it's those very
elite that can be the most neurotic. The one we just finished notwithstanding. The prick owner is withholding payment to the tune
of 6 million enchiladas. 1.7 million enchiladas of it's mine. He's got the dough, he's just a miserable phukker who's intent on making
everyone else around him miserable. He thought by building a 80,000 sq. ft. house, he'd no longer be the loser dufas he is. Wrong!
Money can't buy happiness. Everyone that works for him hates him. His wife hates him. Anyhow, think of him as a joyrider in a car w/ the
police in pursuit. Eventually he's gonna hit the spike strip and he'll have 2 pay and my wife wants interest blood on top of it. at the legal rate of
10 %, the interest alone is $14,166.00 per mo. (uncompounded). Our work is world class. We put a lien on the house. Our paperwork's bulletproof.
Anyhow, they're having a big pow wow friday. We'll see what happens. Anyhow, back to the crossroads. Once richardnose pays,  along with
enchiladas on hand, I'm pretty much thinkin retirement and just coaching. Every time I talk like that, another nice job comes a callin'. I'm actually
just thinking of doing some small developing closer to home. My kids are growing up quick and I don't want to miss much more. That's kinda where
I'm at.

You can't argue with that. Let the kids run amok all day while your planning your practice schedule.
At 1:30 you yell, "school's out". The kids disperse. You go to practice. Win, win.

I've got a friend who does quite well with a deputy inspection business. In the past, we did more structural stuff. You need that structural mindset
to be a deputy. it's a good racket. Besides three years in the Bering Sea King crab fishing (79'-81') I've spent my entire life in construction. You gotta
be a tough s.o.b. to keep doing it. I'm 52 now. A lot smarter, but not as tough anymore. I don't really do much, but the L.A. life, traffic and crap can wear
on ya.

Masonry on south Florida is an absolute joy in August.  ??? Construction has destroyed me physically over the years. Much more than sports or the military. Florida construction was devastated by the recession. Should of listened to my father and stayed in college.   :(

Yes. Overall construction is pretty horrible. I mean there is still new construction going on, but over all it is pretty horrid.

I'm thankful I've stayed in good shape through it all. You've gotta stay in shape. Otherwise this youth football and construction will kick
your ass. Anyhow, i guess I made hay while the sun was shining. I knew I had to, so i did. I couldn't picture myself as an
old, haggard, run down contractor.  Construction's a young man's game.

I'm still an accountant. Only now I'm going to graduate school after work... and it's freaking scary. You need to keep a B average otherwise you go on academic probation and you wont graduate. On top of that I am learning python and html for fun  :)

I'm a scientist, underemployed or unemployed most of the time.  My Ph.D. is in biochemistry, but I also had more than 2 yrs. of med school.  Shoulda gone into computer programming when I had the chance 40 yrs. ago, but wound up programming only as an adjunct to other stuff I've done.  Here are my claims to fame as I listed them a few yrs. ago.  I have a couple US pats. issued: one for a sinus decongestant, the other for the world's best bath foam.
