ROUND ONE PLAYOFFS

I actually liked our chances today...then we played the game.

Jumped out to a 13-0 lead and then got worked for 3 Q's losing 39-13.

Fun season. Exhausting season. Movin' on. Have one heck of a banquet planned.

Finish up 4-5 after starting 1-4 so we did progress nicely. Good group of hard working kids.

What the heck happened? Donít usually get smacked by that much after being up 2 scores. Not in youth ball at least.
Turnovers?
It's all about having fun.  But losing aint fun!

Nothing unusual....just got our asses kicked. They have a wedge play we simply couldn't stop. This SW Sidesaddle is no joke and their player that plays the sidesaddle is VERY tough. They played an Amoeba style of Defense that we struggled with that also blitzed from depth...serious depth.

With Mega splits a rhythmic cadence is death. We started the season in regular splits with a rhythmic cadence. Once we moved to mega we figured leave the cadence be since its super smurf ball. Probably shouldn't have done that. That was an issue today but not the death blow. The death blow was sniffers picking up this delayed blitz from serious depth. It was confusing and the confusion forced them to play slow. Play slow in the playoffs and its time to start thinking about basketball season.

Kids were walking dead in pre game but then came out fast.

Thing that is tough with these really young kids....in game adjustments are nearly impossible to accomplish. They must practice EVERYTHING so they fully understand. None of them....on any team.... are experienced enough to be considered football smart sans just a few here and there. We made a few key adjustments at halftime down by 6. Didn't help. The opponent just flat out kicked butt after falling behind. They played very well.....we were thinking too much is my take.

As far as turnovers...we threw a pick six in the 4th when the game was in hand. No biggie....OC went into passing mode to build a little something for the future. We do have a VERY talented passer but Beast is a dogshit formation to be a passing from even though we were probably the most successful passing team in our Division.

Still....had a good time this year. Its pretty causal football. Post game snack-age rules.  :)

Toady I was probably more serious a Header during the game than any other this season. My style is Im a flamethrower...players....refs....staff....not so much this season.  The Crew we had was just awful after a nice string of top notch officiating the past month or so. That was disappointing but didn't dictate the outcome.

I have a feeling our season is going to end in the first round of the play offs. The difference is that we are probably one of the most talented teams in our league/age group. It is frustrating, because we should be undefeated. Unfortunately it is our faults, not the kids. They are playing hard, we just aren't putting them in the right positions to win against the better teams.
