Week 2 - 27-13 win
« on: September 08, 2018, 07:29:55 PM »
We played much better this week.  A third string back gave up a strip and score for the opponents 2nd TD.  The first score was on a strip of our 1st string tailback where they returned it inside our 10 and punched it in early in the game.

We dominated time of possession and were only stopped on downs on one possession.  We were up 14-6 at the half, got the onside to start the second half, and scored on the first play from scrimmage to pretty much seal the deal.

We have to improve our ball security and our backs blocking was not great BUT we pretty much contained an athletic - but poorly coached -offense.

Next week we play the defending super bowl champions.  They were off this week and were there scouting us.  They gave up 0 points and only 6 first downs the entire season last year.  I can't wait to see how we match up.  The only film I have is their tailbacks highlights on Youtube from week 1 and last years championship game on a Facebook live stream.

We then play the Super Bowl runner up followed by the team that just beat them.  The next 3 weeks will tell us exactly where we stand when compared to those guys.
